Halftone App Adds iOS 5 Face Detection Feature

Today, Juicy Bits released Halftone 1.6.5, an update to their popular vintage photo effects app that takes advantage of new face detection features in iOS 5 to automatically position speech and thought balloons to add comic-style effects to an image.

The update also uses the new iOS 5 built-in Twitter functionality to quickly share photos with friends. Photos can also be posted to Facebook, sent via e-mail, and output to any AirPrint-enabled printer.

Shuttr camera accessory for iPhone adds Xenon flash

The bottom of the case has a 1/4?-20 tripod mount, which will help get the blur out of my pics assuming I have a tripod handy. The backside of the case where the camera lens is also has a soft-touch grip to make it easier to hold your iPhone for shooting photos. The coolest feature of the case though is that it has a button to activate the shutter.

That grey button on the top of the grip activates the shutter for you so you don’t have to use the touchscreen. الآن وبعد ان كشفت جوجل عن اول جهاز لوحي لها، بقي على المستخدمين بصورة عامة وعلى المطورين على وجه الخصوص ان يقرروا اين يقفون وما الذي ينوون القيام به في قادم الايام، وأي من النظامين سيختارون، هل نظام “ابل” ام نظام الاندرويد في الاجهزة وتطوير التطبيقات.

نظام ابل يتفوق على الاندرويد بالاستخدام طويل الامد للتطبيقات

مرت ايام كان خلالها من السهل اتخاذ قرار كهذا، لأن الموازين كانت واضحة وتميل بشكل لا يقبل الجدل الى ناحية نظام “ابل”، iOS، وكانت غالبية المستخدمين والمطورين يختارون نظام “ابل”، ولكن الآن اصبح الاندرويد قريبا جدا من نظام “ابل” مما يجعل من عملية الاختيار لأي النظامين نطور التطبيقات امرا مثيرا للحيرة.

وينبغي على المطور ان يأخذ عدة امور بعين الاعتبار قبل ان يقرر ان يختار أي النظامين للتعامل معه. ومن بين هذه المؤشرات ذات الاهمية بالنسبة للمطور كي يختار نظاما دون غيره، هو كم مرة يشغل المستخدم العادي التطبيق بعد ان حمله من المتجر الى جهازه ؟ في هذا المؤشر لا تزال “ابل” ونظامها iOS يحتل الصدارة وذلك وفق ما ورد في موقع Localytics:

“بعد تحميل تطبيق ما من متجر ابل او متجر جوجل يختلف تعامل المستخدم مع كلا النوعين من التطبيقات، وهنا يسجل نظام ابل تفوقا على نظام الاندرويد بنسبة تقارب 52%. فهناك 32% من المستخدمين الذين يحملون تطبيقا من متجر ابل، يعودون ويشغلونه على الاقل 10 مرات بعد تحميله، في حين ان من يشغل التطبيق عشر مرات على الاقل بعد تحميله من متجر الاندرويد، نسبتهم لا تتجاوز 23%.

اما المستخدمين الذي يفتحون التطبيق ويشغلونه مرة واحدة فقط بعد تحميله، فهي مختلفة بين متجر ابل ومتجر جوجل. 24% ممن يحملون تطبيقا من متجر جوجل ويفتحونه فقط مرة واحدة، في حين ان هذه النسبة لدى من يحملون تطبيقا من متجر ابل ويفتحونه مرة واحدة فقط هي 21%.”

ونظرا لأن نظام الاندرويد منتشر في آلاف النماذج من الاجهزة وبأحجام متعددة ودقة عروض متباينة، فإن عملية مواكبة التطبيقات تصبح مهمة شبه مستحيلة، او على الاقل اصعب بكثير مما هي عليه في نظام “ابل” حيث عدد الاجهزة مختصر من حيث تنوع النماذج.

في هذا السياق، فإن غالبية مستخدمي اجهزة الاندرويد يعانون من ان هذا التطبيق او ذاك لا يتوافق مع جهازه، رغم انه متوفر في متجر “جوجل بلاي”. وهذا نابع من كثرة النماذج التي لا يتمكن المطورون احيانا بإعداد التطبيقات لتتوافق مع كافة الاجهزة وإنما يختارون الاجهزة الشهيرة من بينها او العاملة بأحدث نسخة من نظام التشغيل.

ترقية Instagram للنسخة 2.5 وتتضمن تجديدات عديدة .

يعتبر Instagram من تطبيقات التصوير الشهيرة في متجر “ابل” إن لم يكن الاشهر على الاطلاق في هذه الفئة، ويتيح للمستخدم تبادل الصور بعد التقاطها ووضع لمسته الخاصة على الصورة بمساعدة الفلاتر العديدة في التطبيق.

ويمكن بعد الانتهاء من اعداد الصورة بكل ما يوفره لك التطبيق من ادوات، ان تنشر الصورة عبر الشبكة الاجتماعية الخاصة التي تحمل ذات الاسم Instagram إضافة الى امكانية نشرها عبر صفحات مواقع اجتماعية أخرى مثل فيسبوك وتويتر على سبيل المثال.
